Targeting the Global Water Treatment Market with Ultrasound-Based PFAS Treatment Technology

Shinhan Square Bridge Daegu announced on the 16th that FUST Lab was selected as the Grand Prize winner at the 4th ESG Incubation Program Demo Day, which was held on the 4th.

At this demo day, a total of seven companies were honored after a comprehensive evaluation of business viability, technological capability, and growth potential among technology-driven startups in the ESG sector.

FUST Lab is a startup developing water treatment technologies that utilize focused ultrasonic technology to treat persistent and toxic substances such as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).

PFAS are substances that are difficult to remove using conventional water treatment methods and are widely recognized as an urgent challenge in environmental and industrial sectors worldwide. FUST Lab has gained attention by presenting a technological solution capable of addressing this critical issue.

In Korea, the water treatment industry still has relatively low public awareness, and the startup ecosystem in this field remains at an early stage, creating structural challenges where market growth and investment attraction require significant time.
In contrast, the global water treatment technology market is growing rapidly, driven by strengthening environmental regulations, and is generating a wide range of new business opportunities comparable to those in the IT industry.

FUST Lab is evaluated as a company that has proactively identified these global trends and secured differentiated technological competitiveness in the water treatment sector. In particular, the company received high praise for demonstrating the potential to grow into a mainstream player in the global water treatment industry, based on its ability to solve highly complex environmental challenges that existing technologies struggle to address.

This technological strength and growth potential have also translated into tangible results in the investment market. FUST Lab recently secured approximately KRW 3.1 billion in funding, successfully demonstrating both its technological capability and business viability.

During the demo day presentation, FUST Lab attracted strong attention from the judging panel by presenting realistic industrial application cases along with a concrete strategy for global market expansion.

In his acceptance speech, Hwangbo Minseong, CEO of FUST Lab, stated:
