We are thrilled to announce that FUST Lab’s proprietary ultrasound-based PFAS destruction technology has successfully completed the PFAS reduction demonstration project hosted by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan.
The outstanding results have been officially published in the government’s technical guide: "Technical Collection of Countermeasures for Reducing Concentrations of PFOS, etc."

Participating in a consortium with Hitachi High-Tech, FUST Lab intensively validated our core technology under Project No. W3: "PFAS Detoxification Module via ~400kHz Ultrasound-Oxidation Radical Hybrid."
▶ Key Milestones & Technological Breakthroughs
- Flawless Compliance: Utilizing actual PFOS/PFOA contaminated water in Japan, the system successfully met the government target of reducing total PFOS+PFOA levels to below 50 ng/L at a continuous treatment scale of 50 m³/day.
- True Destruction, Not Just Separation: Unlike conventional methods (such as Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), ion exchange resins, or foam separation) that merely transfer or concentrate contaminants and leave secondary hazardous waste, FUST Lab’s technology directly breaks down and destroys PFAS at the molecular level using acoustic cavitation and radical reactions.
- Validated Credibility: Our proprietary system has been officially designated and registered as "FUST Lab’s DEBREX" within the Japanese government's technical document, heavily solidifying our technology's credibility and readiness for global deployment.
▶Outstanding Economic Feasibility & Scalability
- Highly Competitive Cost: The official report indicates an estimated operational cost of 71.3 JPY/m³ under continuous treatment assumptions. This demonstrates tremendous potential for outstanding economic viability and commercial feasibility in large-scale industrial wastewater treatment.
- Hybrid System Expansion: Our ultrasound-based direct destruction technology can be seamlessly integrated into a hybrid model—combining pre-concentration stages with post-treatment ultrasound destruction. This offers a highly practical, energy-efficient solution for treating massive volumes of low-concentration PFAS streams.
At FUST Lab, we are committed to moving beyond the limitations of traditional filters, chemicals, and incineration. We will continue to advance our direct-destruction, sustainable water treatment solutions to eradicate persistent contaminants worldwide.
